Twin Cities Bronze Raises Hundreds of Dollars for Local Handbell Program
Twin Cities Bronze, one of the nation's premier English Handbell ensembles, recently raised over $900 during a benefit concert for the handbell program at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie, MN.
The 90 minute concert featured a wide variety of repertoire and was attended by approximately 150 people on Sunday, May 4th. Twin Cities Bronze is one of the few professional handbell ensembles that perform without a conductor. They rely on musicianship, teamwork, and technical and musical execution to thrill audiences with classical and secular selections.
According to Gary Thrasher, Immanuel's Minister of Music, the congregation was "thrilled" with the results of the concert and free will offering. Thrasher continued, "I am so impressed with the musicality and presentation Twin Cities Bronze brought to the performance… and it was such a blessing for Twin Cities Bronze to commit their time and talent for our large, and very generous, audience."
Monica McGowan, the Artistic Director of Twin Cities Bronze, said, "As a professional ensemble, I believe it is important for Twin Cities Bronze to be an active participant and promoter of the art of handbells in the Greater Twin Cities music community. Ringing in a Benefit Concert for Immanuel Lutheran Church was a different venture for us, but it was a successful event for everyone."
Twin Cities Bronze is available for fundraising performances on a limited basis. For more information, contact Ms. McGowan at 952-461-7261.
